Diane Reeves Receives "Best of Show"
at Associates' Exhibition
Diane Reeves with Artwork
"It's the first time I won a Best of Show!" exclaimed Diane Reeves as she accepted the award for her mixed media piece, "Grace Notes of Life". Diane continued to say that it was an honor to receive the award especially from among such a variety of accomplished artists who comprise the Associates Members of Destination: Art, and she highly values the award coming from Ron Libbrecht of APCFine Art Gallery, who was the juror.
Diane Reeves has always been a photographer but she describes herself as an artist who works with photographs. For this piece, she printed the photo on rice paper and collaged it to board. Then she added colored pencil and ink. The title of the piece alludes to the lowly clothes pin as a metaphor for finding inspiration in the mundane parts of daily life.
Diane Reeves has been a member of the South Bay art community for quite some time, holding memberships and past offices in the Torrance Artists' Guild, Redondo Beach Art Group, and Artists' Open Group of the PV Art Center. Diane is re-entering the art community after some time away to care for family members and has chosen to do so by joining as an Associate member at Destination: Art because, she says, it is an innovative idea and she loves the Open Studio Paint-ins on Tuesdays!
Destination: Art values the Associate Members and their contributions to the community.
