Destination: Art is pleased to announce that our own studio artist,
David Wolfram, will be the recipient of the 2015 Torrance Cultural Arts
Commission Excellence in Arts Award. The
award will be presented at a free public reception on October 24, 2015 from
3:00 – 5:00pm at the Cultural Arts Center Toyota Meeting Hall, 3330 Civic
Center Drive, Torrance.
Wolfram has been an active member of the Torrance art community as a
driving force behind the concept and implementation of Destination: Art, a
non-profit art center, now completing its first year, in Downtown Torrance at
1815 W. 213th St., #135.
Wolfram is currently the president of Torrance Artists’ Guild and is a
founding member of the Pastel Society of Southern California, a Torrance-based
non-profit for the promotion of the pastel medium.
Wolfram is teaching a four-week class at Destination: Art, open to the
public, entitled “A Structured Approach to Oil Painting” beginning on September
10 and running each Thursday from 9:30am – 12:30pm through October 1. This class will assist painters of all
levels, from beginner to advanced, to build a painting from the ground up as
they study composition, underpainting, color mixing, and finishing. Contact Destination: Art to reserve a spot or
